Heather Leverett is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. Heather teaches 2nd grade at Reeves-Hinger Elementary School in Canyon, Texas. She is in her 13th year in education and has previously taught pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade. Heather became a teacher after following in the footsteps of her parents and sister. She has worked with the Texas Resource Review and mentored four clinical teachers. Heather graduated from West Texas A&M University with a BS in political science and an MA in teaching.
