Mario Piña teaches 5th grade at Perez Elementary School within a two-way dual language program. He serves on the campus advisory committee and is a campus dyslexia designee. At the district level, Mario serves on the District Advisory Council and has represented his team on the innovation district advisory committee. Mario is a leader in bilingual pedagogy, writing dual language curriculum for the district, presenting on best practices for dual language programs at different conferences, and serving on the organizing committee for the ¡Adelante! Conference. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Applied Learning and Development with a focus in bilingual education.
