Erika Martinez is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and oversees the Multilingual Services Department at Minooka CCSD 201 in Minooka, Illinois. She coordinates multilingual programming for Pre-K through 8th grade across the school district. She also supports multilingual families across their district through diverse family-focused trainings and events. In her previous school district, she served as a teaching and learning coach, bilingual department building representative, and building leadership representative. Erika was named the University of St. Francis Teacher of the Month as well as Student Mentor of the Year. She is a proud member of Kappa Delta Pi. Erika earned her BS in elementary education with middle school endorsement in social sciences and language arts from the University of St. Francis. She also earned an MA in teaching and learning: ESL as well as an MA in educational leadership at the University of St. Francis. She is currently working on her doctoral degree.
