Michael Smith is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Indiana Change Agent Teacher Leader. Michael is a 9th grade English language arts teacher and freshman academy team lead at George Washington High School. Michael previously ran the interdisciplinary 9th grade team at Arlington Community High School. He was named Teacher of the Year for Arlington High School, a Top 10 IPS District Teacher of the Year, and a Teach For America – Indianapolis Aspiring Leader; an award that earned him a spot in Marian University’s 10th Building Level Administrator’s Licensure Cohort. Michael graduated from Wabash College with a degree in Music and English, earning Distinction as a Literature scholar ,and received his MA in Teaching from Marian University.
