Monica Hill is a 2023-24 Teach Plus Texas Houston Policy Fellow. Monica teaches high school science and serves as the middle and high school science department chair at Secondary Disciplinary Alternative Education Program Campus in Houston, Texas. Monica previously taught 5th grade math and science and 8th grade science. She has also served as a data tracking and assessment specialist, campus-based mentor, effective practices specialist, and problem-solving communities’ facilitator at Secondary DAEP as part of Houston ISD’s Career Pathways Teacher Leader Program. Monica was recognized as 2019-2020 Teacher of Year at Secondary DAEP and is a Teach Plus Texas Houston ISD Policy Fellowship alumna. She graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BS in Business Management and an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction.
