Patrick Powers is a 2020-21 Texas Policy Fellow. He is an 8th grade English teacher and Athletics coach at Bettye Myers Middle School in Denton, Texas, where he created the club “Express Yourself,” which allows students to communicate through artistics expression in a safe space. He is the Founder & CEO of the nonprofit, The Lost Generation, which works to uplift, impact, and empower students in and out of the classroom through a wide range of influential programs. In 2019, he was honored with the Teacher of Influence award from the Lake Cities Chamber of Commerce. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in English and received his MEd in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.
