Sadie Sherrill is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Mississippi Teaching Policy Fellow. Sadie is a 7th grade English language arts teacher at Belle-Shivers Middle School in Aberdeen, Mississippi where she serves on the literacy team, the scholastic team, and as a curriculum aide for new language arts teachers. Sadie began teaching in Como, Mississippi with the Mississippi Teacher Corps, a program designed to assist with the teacher shortage in the impoverished Mississippi Delta. She has mentored first year teachers through this program. Sadie was the recipient of Belle-Shivers Middle School’s Improvement Award in 2017. Sadie received a BA in English Literature with a concentration in Southern Historical Studies and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Mississippi.
