Sarah Jecks is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Illinois Early Childhood Educator Fellow. Sarah works as an early childhood special education teacher at the Black Hawk Area Education Center, where she coordinates collaboration between early childhood teachers in local school districts and is a leading team member in planning the annual family school conference. Previously, Sarah taught both Preschool for All and kindergarten at Silvis Elementary School in Silvis, Illinois. At Silvis, she created two innovative programs, Book a Night and the Growing Great Families Conference, which served to support school-family connections for students in the elementary school. Sarah graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a BA in Early Childhood Education and received her MEd in Early Childhood Education from Western Illinois University.
