Shannon Carr is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Illinois Early Childhood Educator Fellow. Shannon teaches Preschool at Perkins Bass Elementary School in Chicago. She is a Community Schools Initiative Program Supervisor with Children’s Home + Aid nonprofit agency and a Core Leader of a support group for women impacted by domestic violence in the Grand Crossing community. Shannon became a teacher after years of volunteering in Chicago Public Schools and Atlanta Public Schools. She graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a BA in Early Childhood Education and received her MA in Community Counseling from Argosy University, Chicago.
