Zeta Shearill is a 2024-2026 Teach Plus New Mexico Policy Fellow and high school English teacher at Alma d’arte Charter High School in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She is the yearbook mentor, poetry teacher, and started a travel group, leading three cohorts of students to Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Zeta has received recognition as an exemplary teacher. She started her teaching career at New Mexico State University (NMSU) as an adjunct instructor and then continued in North Carolina and Hawaii before returning to New Mexico. She is on the Doña Ana Arts Council Board and advisory board for an upcoming reproductive health center. She earned a BA in English from The Ohio State University, MA in literature with an emphasis in poetry and rhetoric from NMSU, and MAEd in curriculum and instruction from NMSU.
