Jo Spark is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. Jo is the Master Teacher of blended learning and innovation at Alta Vista Elementary in Waco, Texas. She is responsible for teaching enrichment classes for grades 2 through 5 and power hour classes for kindergarten through 5th grade addressing the development and application of critical thinking skills. As part of her responsibilities, she collaborates with teachers on the development and initiation of problem-based learning experiences and is the campus coordinator for UIL and the Gifted and Talented Program. Among her many district and campus involvements, she serves on her campus leadership team and the Quality District Advisory Committee. Jo has been named a Microsoft Innovative Educator and an Educator in Residence for The Henry Ford. She holds a BA in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas at Arlington.
