Staci Ward is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow. Staci is a district instructional coach at the International Prep Academy. She has served as a Champaign Unit 4 School District Reading Recovery Team. As Academic Director for the DREAAM House program, she has trained staff members and volunteers in a variety of practices to support the academic achievement for boys of color. She coordinated and facilitated parent workshops with the Champaign Urbana Cradle to Career partnership and mentored and co-facilitated a group of middle school girls in the Sisterhood Academy of Excellence at Franklin STEAM Academy. Staci became a Golden Apple Scholar of Illinois in 2002 and a trained Reading Recovery teacher in 2011. She received a BA in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish, an EdM in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Language and Literacy, and a Reading Teacher Endorsement from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
