Stephanie McDermott is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Illinois Change Agent Teacher Leader. Stephanie teaches 1st through 3rd grade English, mathematics, biology, geography, history, and geometry in a Montessori classroom at the Montessori School of Englewood in Englewood, Chicago where she is the lead lower elementary teacher. She is also a project manager and classroom coach for the Chicago Montessori Residency, which trains teachers that aspire to lead Montessori classrooms in urban environments. She holds an AMS Montessori Teaching Certification at the Elementary level. Stephanie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in English and Political Science and is currently pursuing her Masters in Public Policy and Nonprofit Management at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
