Steven Morgan is a 2020-2021 Teach Plus Texas DFW Policy Fellow. Steven teaches 5th grade reading and language arts at Charles A. Gill Elementary School in Dallas, Texas. He is a veteran teacher who holds a distinguished rating with the Dallas ISD. Steven is a sponsor for Poetry Slam and the book club. He served as a Teacher Excellence Initiative expert for his campus as well as 5th grade level chair. He previously taught 7th grade Texas History and 4th grade self contained and coached varsity football and wrestling. Steven’s passion for student advocacy is spurred by witnessing years of inequality in the accessibility and resources available to inner city black and brown students. Steven graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a BA in Sociology.
