Tamara Frazier is a 2019-20 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow. Tamara is the director of music at Castle Park Middle School in Chula Vista, California. She is a member of the faculty advisory committee and site leadership team and chairs committees for the district band directors and SUHSD Stringfest Clinic. Tamara serves as a San Diego State University credential program master teacher and as a SUHSD induction guide teacher. Tamara was awarded the California Music Educators Association Southern Border Section Middle School Music Specialist Award in 2017. She became a Teacher Leader with The California Arts Project in 2018, participating in the California Arts Framework Committee. She serves as the executive director of the Da Capo Educator Ensembles, a non-profit organization in San Diego that provides professional development opportunities for local band directors and music education students at local colleges and universities. Tamara earned her BM in Music Education from San Diego State University, and her MMEd from Boston University.
