Aimee joins Teach Plus as New Mexico Teacher Network Coordinator, developing the Network 2.0 and expanding membership across the state to inform, engage, and activate teacher voice on key issues. She will work with new and current network members, including aspiring educators, to ensure they have the necessary tools to be successful in their practice and develop leadership skills needed to inspire high quality education for students in their classrooms and beyond.
Aimee was previously a Teach Plus NM policy fellow of the year and recently served as a Senior Policy Fellow. She began her career in education in the Las Cruces Public School District in Las Cruces, NM. Prior to joining Teach Plus, Aimee was a kindergarten teacher at Mesilla Elementary. She has accredited her teaching success to her ability to build strong relationships with her students, their families, and the community. Her belief is that all students have the potential to do great things, our job as educators is to help create and hold up that mirror to cast back their reflection.
Aimee holds a BA in Dance and a MA in curriculum and instruction with a focus on elementary education from New Mexico State University.
