Stephanie Nguyen

As Chief Financial Officer, Stephanie Nguyen collaborates with and provide strategic counsel to the CEO, leading the organization’s financial strategy and working in close partnership with the Development Team.

Before joining Teach Plus, Stephanie was a trusted strategic partner and Acting Deputy to the CEO at EdSource, an award-winning nonprofit news organization, and California’s largest newsroom focused on education. At EdSource, she led Operations, Finance, and Talent, leading change management and spearheading initiatives to dismantle legacy benefit policies. Previous to that, she worked at WestEd, a research agency committed to promoting excellence and equity in education. There, Stephanie managed budget development and forecasting for projects focused on Early Learning, Health, and Human Development.

Stephanie began her career in Boston at Putnam Investments and MFS Investments, honing her financial analysis and IPO modeling for retailers, restaurants, e-commerce, and for-profit education companies. Stephanie worked at KIPP public charter schools and the KIPP Foundation in various strategic and analytical capacities across regional operations, development, strategy (Office of the CEO), and FP&A.

A Massachusetts native and daughter of Vietnamese refugees, Stephanie draws on her family’s journey and background to drive meaningful change in education. She studied at Dartmouth College and received a merit-based full-tuition scholarship from Emmanuel College. Stephanie is an alum of Education Pioneers, Columbia Business School’s Developing Leaders Program, Women Impact Alliance, and Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics (LEAP).
