A returning Fellow, Danielle teaches 11th grade Research Seminar and 12th grade transition and is the special education teacher leader at Mount Pleasant High School in Providence, RI. She came to Rhode Island and teaching through Teach For America in 2012 and is still actively involved in the organization. Danielle earned her BA in Psychology and Communication with a minor in Education as a Social Science from Rutgers University and her MA in Urban Education Policy from Brown University.

Joyce Bernau-Enriquez is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Rhode Island Policy Fellow. Joyce teaches music at Central High School in Providence, RI, where she coordinates a volunteer program for her piano students to provide music for patients receiving autoimmune treatments at the Miriam Hospital.  As a member of the Board of Directors of the World Affairs Council of RI, Joyce co-chairs a youth initiative that affords opportunities for college and high school students to become involved in world affairs, and serves on the programming  committee enlisting  speakers for events. Joyce graduated with a BA in Music from Rhode Island College and is pursuing a Masters of Arts Holistic Leadership program at Salve Regina University.

Previously, she taught  middle school mathematics in Providence. Lisa is a member of the Better Math Teaching Network. She has coached middle school basketball for 15 years in Providence and high school fast pitch softball for 10 years at East Greenwich High School. Lisa graduated with an elementary education degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College and an MA in secondary education mathematics from Western Governors University.

Ryan Burns is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Rhode Island Policy Fellow. Ryan teaches English at Smithfield High School in Smithfield, Rhode Island, and in the English and Educational Studies Departments at Rhode Island College. He and his students in the Gender/Sexuality Alliance are committed to combating homophobia and transphobia in school and were recently awarded funding for LGBTQ+ inclusive programming. Ryan is also a Rhode Island Writing Project Teacher Consultant and mentors preservice and beginning teachers. His co-authored work has appeared in Educators Queering Academia: Critical Memoirs (2016) and Acts of Resistance: Subversive Teaching in the English Language Arts Classroom (2020). Ryan graduated from Rhode Island College with his BA in Secondary English Education and MA in English, earned his MEd and certification in Educational Leadership from American College of Education, and is completing his EdD in Literacy, Culture, and Language Education from Indiana University.

Anthony Francisco, Sr. is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Rhode Island Policy Fellow. Anthony is the director of culture and community engagement in the Pawtucket School District. Previously, Anthony taught Spanish at the secondary level at Cooley Juanita Sanchez High School, Hope High School, and was chair of the modern languages department in Providence, RI. He taught 1st grade at Carl G. Lauro Elementary and served as an elementary school administrator. Anthony earned his BA in Spanish Education from Rhode Island College and received his MA in Education from the University of Rhode Island. He is pursuing a PhD from the University of the Cumberlands.

Stacy Jones is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Rhode Island Policy Fellow. Stacy teaches 10th and 11th grade English at W. M. Davies Career and Technical High School in Lincoln, RI, where she also serves as the school's diversity committee chair. She has secured a two-year, $10,000.00 SEL Innovation Fund award and a $57,730.00 Rhode Island Foundation grant. These funds support classroom instruction, professional development, and school culture in the critical areas of cultural competency, social-emotional learning, equity, and belonging. Stacy co-facilitated a panel discussion at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education 2016 Alumni of Color Conference. The panel, entitled Leaning Into The Discomfort of Diversity: Real Actions Necessary for Real Reforms, focused on how current recruitment and hiring practices in public school districts contribute to the lack of diversity among educational staff. She earned a MEd in School Leadership from Harvard Graduate School of Education, an MAT in Secondary Education from Clark University, and an MA in Journalism from New York University.

She has served as Best Buddies advisor, digital learning coach and team member, and workshop host. As a coach, Chelsea supported other educators in the use of technology in the classroom and worked with her school district and Middletown School District to organize and plan a cross-district digital learning day for teachers. Chelsea served as a fellow in the DownCity Design Innovative Educator 2018 cohort. She has studied in Ireland with other educators to explore Ireland's education system and culture. Chelsea graduated from the University of Delaware with a BA in History Education and a minor in Disabilities Studies.
