Halle Shine is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Indiana Policy Fellow and a Remedial Math Teacher at Indianapolis Metropolitan High School. Halle started an Adventure Club on her campus, where she takes students on excursions and supports them in linking their Social Emotional Learning to overcoming challenges outdoors. Halle is a TFA Milwaukee 2018 alum who received her BA in Environmental Management and Swahili from Indiana University and an MA in Education from Alverno College.
Lidia M. Vidal Sandate is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Indiana Innovations Teacher Collaborative teacher leader who teaches Spanish at Global Prep Academy in Indianapolis. Lidia also serves as an instructional coach on her campus. She’s taught students in Mexico and the U.S. Lidia was awarded GPA Teacher of the Year in 2019, and Teach Indy Latinx Teacher of the Year in 2021. She has a BS in Education from Universidad Pedagógia Nacional.
De Meita Vincent is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Indiana Innovations Teacher Collaborative teacher leader who teaches at Purdue Polytechnic High School in Indianapolis. A 19-year educator, De Meita has served her local educational union, participated on educational panels, created clubs that engage and challenge students, and has coached staff members. De Meita received her BS in Biology from Indiana University and her MS from Oakland City University.
Candice Hope Washington is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Indiana Elementary Educator Policy Fellow who serves as Foundational Reading Specialist at Kindezi Academy in Indianapolis. Candice is a 2014 Teach for America alum. Candice was awarded Teacher of the Year on her campus, the Black Expo Teacher Excellence Award, and the Aspiring Leadership Award while in TFA. She’s also been a 1st grade Mentor Teacher on her campus. She graduated from Tennessee State University with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies, and has a MAT from Marian University, with a concentration in Early Childhood Elementary. Candice also completed the BLA Program at Marian.
Ronda is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Indiana Policy Fellow who teaches Chemistry and Forensics at Crown Point High School in Crown Point. Ronda is a Union Representative for the Crown Point Education Association and a member of the Continuous Improvement Committee. Ronda is a Master teacher at PNW QuarkNet Center which was honored by the Society of Innovators in 2017. She graduated from Purdue Northwest with a BS in Electrical Engineering, received her teaching certification through Purdue Northwest, an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction through Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master Certificate from Indiana Wesleyan University in Physics Education.
Jessica Williams is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Indiana Policy Fellow who teaches 3rd grade at Westlake Elementary School in Indianapolis. Jessica serves as her grade level representative on the Leadership/Data Team, is on the LAP Leadership Team and is a member of her school’s E-Learning Content Committee. Jessica previously taught 4th grade and kindergarten as a virtual teacher for the district’s Wayne@Home program. Jessica graduated from Ball State University with a BA in Elementary Education.
Brittany Yanasak is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Indiana Innovations Teacher Collaborative teacher leader who teaches 12th grade English at Christel House at Manual. A nine-year teaching veteran, Brittany is certified to teach reading at the middle and high school levels. In 2018, Brittany was the state recipient and a national finalist for the New American Hero award. She is currently working to receive her English Dual Credit certification. Brittany graduated from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis with a BS in Secondary Education.
